Every CoatNex product ships with the certifications, safety data sheets, and regulatory documentation that Canadian law requires — and that your quality team demands. We don't treat compliance as an afterthought; it's built into our formulation and supply-chain process from day one.

Our Certifications

Comprehensive Canadian Compliance

From mandatory federal requirements to competitive environmental certifications, CoatNex maintains the documentation your business needs to operate without delays.

WHMIS 2015
Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System — Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR)
Mandatory
WHMIS 2015 is Canada's national hazard communication standard, aligned with the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) of Classification and Labelling of Chemicals. Under the amended Hazardous Products Regulations (HPR), effective December 2025, all suppliers must provide GHS-aligned Safety Data Sheets and labels in both English and French for every hazardous product sold or imported into Canada.
What this means for you

Every hazardous product shipped by CoatNex includes a bilingual (EN/FR) SDS and GHS-compliant label. Our regulatory team monitors HPR amendments and updates documentation proactively, so you are never caught off-guard by compliance changes.

CCMC Evaluated
Canadian Construction Materials Centre — National Research Council Canada
Construction
The Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC), a program of the National Research Council Canada, evaluates innovative and non-standardized building products to determine their conformance with the National Building Code of Canada. A CCMC evaluation report gives building officials, specifiers, and contractors confidence that a product meets code intent.
What this means for you

CoatNex spray foam and rigid insulation systems carry CCMC evaluation reports, giving building officials a clear path to code acceptance. This eliminates approval delays on job sites and simplifies the permit process for contractors and architects.

CAN/ULC-S705.1
Standard for Thermal Insulation — Spray Applied Rigid Polyurethane Foam — Underwriters Laboratories of Canada
Insulation
CAN/ULC-S705.1 is the Canadian national standard for spray-applied rigid polyurethane foam insulation used in buildings. It establishes requirements for thermal resistance, density, closed-cell content, water-vapour permeance, dimensional stability, and fire performance, and is referenced directly by the National Building Code of Canada.
What this means for you

CoatNex closed-cell SPF systems are tested and listed to CAN/ULC-S705.1, ensuring they meet the prescriptive requirements of Part 9 and the performance requirements of Part 3 of the National Building Code. Listing documentation is available on request.

Transportation of Dangerous Goods — Transport Canada
Transport
The Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act and Regulations govern the safe handling, offering for transport, and transport of dangerous goods across Canada by road, rail, air, and marine. Isocyanate raw materials (MDI, PMDI) are classified as Class 9 dangerous goods and require compliant shipping documentation, packaging, and vehicle placarding.
What this means for you

CoatNex ensures every isocyanate shipment leaves our facility with compliant UN-specification packaging, bilingual shipping documents, emergency response information (ERAP where required), and proper placarding. Our logistics partners are TDG-certified and trained in emergency procedures.

ISO 9001:2015
Quality Management System — International Organization for Standardization
Quality
ISO 9001:2015 is the internationally recognized standard for quality management systems. It provides a framework for consistent product quality, customer satisfaction, and continual improvement. Certification is audited annually by an accredited third-party registrar.
What this means for you

CoatNex operates under an ISO 9001:2015-certified quality management system. Every batch is manufactured to documented procedures, tested against specification, and accompanied by a Certificate of Analysis (COA). Non-conformances are tracked and resolved through our CAPA process.

Applicable to All Products
VOC Compliant
Volatile Organic Compound Concentration Limits — CEPA Concentration Limits
Environmental
Environment and Climate Change Canada sets concentration limits for volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in architectural coatings, adhesives, and sealants under the Canadian Environmental Protection Act (CEPA). These regulations aim to reduce ground-level ozone and smog-forming emissions across Canada.
What this means for you

CoatNex formulates coatings, sealants, and adhesives to meet or exceed CEPA VOC concentration limits. Our product data sheets clearly state VOC content in grams per litre, making it easy for specifiers to verify compliance with federal and provincial regulations.
